Latchkey Design is a new venture started by, former video editor, comic shop owner and comic art collector, Chris Abel. Chris owned and operated Genesis Comics in Houston, TX from 1995 until mid-2000, where he was behind an early viral website called The Swipe of the Week. He moved to Los Angeles in late 2000, to work in the film industry. Chris moved back to Texas in 2020 and exited the film industry in early 2021. He started Abel Original Art in 2021 with the idea of also selling comic-related t-shirts licensed from independent comic artists and those of his own design. Starting in late 2024, Chris began creating t-shirt designs around pop culture. Latchkey Design is the result. Our designs feature Generation X, Millennial and Gen Z along with pop culture references.

Stewart K. Moore is taking some commissions

Stewart K, Moore, artist of Project MK Ultra, The Tragedie of Macbeth and various 2000AD stories has some time to take on a limited number of commissions at the moment. You can pick any favourite characters from popular fiction, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, DC or MARVEL, whatever.Details are below: There will be two waves of 3 commissions in each. Wave 1 – Requests and deposit must be in by September 30, 2023 with a finish time of November 1, 2023 Wave 2 – Requests and deposit must be in by November 1, 2023 with a finish time of December 10, 2023 Commissions may be delivered after finish dates due to shipping times. PAYMENT TERMS Payment via PayPal Invoicing. 25% down is due when booking the commission, with the balance paid upon completion and before shipping. Postage is included in the commission pricing. COMMISSION PRICING $250 for 1 A3(11.7 x 16.5 inches) black and white inked page with 1 major character with minimal background and with coloured print. $400 for 2 A3(11.7 x 16.5 inches) black and white inked pages with 1 major character, 2 smaller characters with minimal background and with coloured print. Stewart Kenneth Moore Joins Abel Original Art

After several weeks of negotiation, Prague based visual artist, Stewart Kenneth Moore has chosen Abel Original Art to be his comic Art Broker. In 2021 Stewart illustrated Project MK Ultra: Sex, Drugs & the CIA vol. 1 based on a screenplay by Brandon Beckner and Scott Sampila. The novel details the real-world efforts of the CIA to weaponize LSD for the purposes of mind-control during the Cold War. The first volume was published in spring 2021 by Ted Adams’ Clover Press. A second volume is for publication in fall 2022. In 2019 Stewart teamed up with legendary 2000 AD scriptwriter Pat Mills to illustrate Defoe: The Divisor, a new chapter in Mills’ steampunk zombie fantasy set in 17th-century London. Some of Stewart’s career highlights include his current work on Judge Dredd, work for David Lloyd’s digital comic anthology Aces Weekly (The Boötes Void and an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Thrawn Janet) and 2016’s The Tragedie of Macbeth, a dark and moody black-and-white graphic novel of the Shakespeare play.
